Avicii Releases New Songs “The Days” & “The Nights”

So besides last years mega smash “Wake Me Up,” I haven’t really ever been a huge Avicii fan. I was one of the few people who literally hated “Levels,” and all of his follow up singles post-WMU were underwhelming to me. His latest offerings “The Days” and “The Nights” are pretty amazing though.

“The Days” isn’t even an EDM song to be fair. It’s pretty much pure pop, but the melody is decent enough and who doesn’t low-key love Robbie Williams? The single is apparently tied in to Ralph Lauren somehow, so I guess it’s just a promo song. It’s pretty than most of his last album though.

“The Nights” is actually amazing. It’s sort of a watered down version of “Wake Me Up” as it follows the formula to a T but has a lighter and poppier production. The lyrics are vaguely about living life to the fullest, so pretty much anyone can relate to them as they are general enough. This track is apparently also a promo track that is tied into FIFA and their most recent video game or whatever. Maybe Avicii can stop releasing albums and just start doing commercial jingles? That seems to be working out pretty well for him.

  1. Jeff Matisoff says:

How can you LITERALLY hate Levels?? Except… Of course you do.

  2. Long time reader, first time poster.

How exactly do you not like Levels? That genuinely makes no sense to me.

  3. Even for a certified contrarian (a position I lovingly embrace)… I still don’t get it.
