Lady Gaga is beyond insufferable. I promised myself I wouldn’t review this single, but here I am writing a post up about it. After Gaga took to twitter to dramatically and pretentiously rehash old criticism from years ago that everyone has moved on from except her and use it as #ARTPOPPROMO, she then released new promo single Do What U Want featuring 90’s R&B legend R. Kelly.
The song is seriously bland. It’s basically a cheaply re-written, but not updated at all version of So Happy I Could Die. It’s a tiny bit urban, (Gaga would never bandwagon that trend for chart success!), but it’s also pretty standard pop. Needless to say the public ate it up for about a day. That is, until it was made the official second single instead of Venus as Gaga is the most hypocritical pop star on the planet.
Since the single announcement the single has been dropping on iTunes like a lead balloon. Basically for Gaga, a song hitting number 1 on iTunes for a couple hours makes it a single worthy success. Her thirsty attempt to get attention for the single with that g-string cover art is also really transparent. At least R. Kellegend finally graces the charts again!
