The Collective’s “Another Life” Slays

Aussie X Factor boy band The Collective have released a new single and video for Another Life. I cannot post the video in this review as it is only available for view in Australia, but I have seen it and will review it anyhow.

The song is a lush pop ballad. Totally something strong enough for any of the top tier boybands of the world. There are some awesome vocals toward the end as well.

The video is beyond cheap. Like, embarrassingly cheap. Like, oh hell no wtf is this, cheap. Basically the boys are in a house with their girlfriends, (um the song is about a failed love affair why are y’all so happy with ya boos?), and on a rooftop dancing. The rooftop is badly green screened in the same way late 90s/early 2000s video did their insanely bad green screening. Also, why does the hot one who also has the strongest voice get the least screen time (which is only at the END of the video)? What a train wreck.

I am pleased with this release. The song is pretty awesome, (though it’s flopping hard core in Oz), and I am hoping for an album release soon. Let’s hope they dont get dropped!

Grade: 8/10
